After what seemed a long, long wait, Fishminster at 267 North Street is now open. There was a big queue there on Saturday night and I'm pleased to report the cod and chips was very good.
The new chippy is part of a small local group which has sister restaurants Rucola in Clifton and Ceiturica, 277 North Street, Southville.
It's also going to sell fresh fish. A welcome edition to North Street.

Not everyone in Southville seems to be quite so 'chipper' about this new addition to North Street. The lead letter in last night's Evening Post (20 February) was from someone living above the shop. Apparently the noise and smell of the new vent is overpowering and he writes in some frustration at the planning process that has meant that residents have only just been told of the planning application.
