Okay, we all have our own opinions about cigarettes and profits from tobacco but it's good to know a Southville-based company has increased its profits by 54%. Imperial Tobacco, which has the biggest sales and profits of any firm in the Bristol area, has its headquarters in Upton Road. For the six months ending in March it recorded sales of £12 billion by selling 151.1 billion cigarettes across the world. Good for your health, no. Good for the 225 staff working in Upton Road, yes.
